Humpty Trumpty's Wall

Today that bombastic lying malignant narcissist announced, though he "didn't have to", that he is declaring a national emergency so he literally can rob taxpayer funds already designated for other purposes to build a token border wall. He's either mentally ill, as many suggest, and obsessed with a mnemonic device taught to him during his campaign days, or he's making a lot of money for himself, his crime family and syndicate, in this country and abroad, through mega-deal somehow related to border security and the construction of this wall. Most likely there's quid pro quo. When is there not?

GOP used to be spending averse, or at least they pretended to be. Oh, but that's right, this isn't the GOP anymore; this is the Trump party. So, the U.S. debt is the highest it's ever been at $22 trillion and government elected officials and lawmakers just keep on pouring wealth through a multi billion-dollar sieve, of course keeping most for those who put them in power, those they are in debt to, themselves and their inner circles, the otherwise already wealthy.

I had to write today because this is the day a president by openly defying Congress, which already passed a bill concerning border security, defiled the Constitution and the American people, most of whom do not support funding a multi-billion dollar symbol of isolationism and exclusion.

The sad underpinning of this situation is that our government has become so corrupt our would-be public servants now consolidate their power by lying in broad strokes right to our faces. Today Trump admitted to the country he's lying when he said he "didn't need to declare a national emergency." He just wants to get this done.

So far nothing and no one has stopped him, aided and abetted by the Trump party. Something about them has been too powerful to take down, as yet. And this is the result: our country's government is failing itself.

This is shocking to me. Never before in my life have I felt that this country is teetering on a precipice into which it could suddenly collapse. Not as I do now. There is so much havoc and chaos in the executive branch, so much political partisanship in the legislative and judicial branches, that it really seems the federal government is a tragic joke on us.

People can right themselves. It happens sometimes. But money and power corrupt people. Ambitious wealthy people who hoard for their immediate in-circle either never learned social conscience or dispensed with social conscience because of its inconvenience. They may also manifest disdain toward people not born to advantage and privilege.

The person who uses wealth and power to take more power and wealth by lying to the disadvantaged is an immeasurably cruel, and I would say evil person. The people who give the duplicitous wealthy autocrat power over their lives are pathetic. Unwittingly they are giving more power to someone strictly interested in consolidating wealth and power within an already privileged minority.

Beyond this, that enough people were manipulated under the current gerrymandered electoral system in our country to elect a very ill malignant narcissist and wannabe despot beholden to foreign crime syndicates very much already entrenched in foreign government--beyond this, unraveling the machinations and complexities of the crime syndicate dynamics is well, it's simply beyond me.

Art of Protest: Release the Mueller Report  April 4, 2019. Highway 169 SW MN

Beginnings

Last night something amazing happened. Thousands of Americans flooded into streets to publicly proclaim they want the Mueller investigation protected, and that is to say, they want corruption rooted out of federal government. This happened on the heels of the midterm election in which people voted in record numbers. I wouldn’t exactly call Democrats taking back the House of Representatives a reversal of fortune, since the Trump party controls the Senate, but Democrats now have opportunities to do damage control. People whose rights have been trampled on by the Trump party perhaps feel somewhat safer and empowered. I do. I no longer see us as a country on the same precipice as when our democratic checks and balances were not working at all. We have been living in a country at risk and it has been very frightening to a lot of people. Money is power in this country and the financial inequities are devastating in many ways. The Trump party has had and still has a lot of power; because ...

A refresher on constitutional democracy

Reprise: and yet they come One thing about the migratory caravans we know for sure—Trump is politicizing and enfolding them into his hysterical extremist rhetoric through which he continues to incite in the populous fear and hatred.  I believe Trump is using the migrant caravans to yet again attempt consolidation of power. He has always included illegal immigration in his vitriolic speeches espousing what he himself now has called his nationalist ideology. By sewing division and hatred and creating chaos through incessant lying T rump increasingly destabilizes democracy and consolidates personal and party power. The more fear and hatred of others he can generate among Americans, the more he undermines the people's unity and therefore the people's power, and the less able we will be as a country to function democratically. A refresher on constitutional democracy Constitutional democracy is government of the people, by the people, for the people. It is not government...
